What I Learned At The Course - 853 Words

An overview of what I learned in the course: The main thing that stood out for me was Universal Design for Learning, and how much â€Å"assistive technology† and â€Å"accessibility† tools benefits EVERYONE! There is no such thing as average! Even as adults we benefit from this approach! We learned about an overwhelming amount of resources, and I look forward to exploring more of them. Off the top of my head, some of the tools that stand out the most for me are: Google Chrome extensions (so many!), iPad accessibility features (I LOVE the Guided Access feature), some useful learning websites (for example, audiobooks and online book creators), new apps, and the snipping tool. What I learned about myself: When I first looked over the course outline, I was a little apprehensive about some parts of this technology course†¦ Me? Create a website? ( it actually turned out to be kind of fun!). Although I wouldn’t consider myself to be a techie, I would say that, overall, I am comfortable with technology and will often explore programs I do know. However, there is A LOT that I don’t know. And sometimes the sheer amount of options can be overwhelming. But that’s okay! In fact, it’s fun! I’ve learned that I actually enjoy exploring what is out there. I think it’s important to be brave, check it out, sign up for those free trials, and don’t be afraid to click on that button to see what happens!
